It was a pleasure to attend Oxley College's Foundation Night and to present the Junior Category Award for the Oxley College Art Prize. Congratulations to all award recipients, especially Lila Dias from Kindergarten in the Junior School. Foundation Night is always a celebration of the Oxley community. Highlights of the evening included public speaking and musical performances, the Pipe Band Leadership Ceremony as new student leaders were inducted for the year ahead, and the announcement of the Oxley College Art Prize winners. The beautiful Pipe Band recessional remains a special tradition to witness. A special acknowledgement to Jim Halls for his heartfelt Welcome to Country. We were also privileged to welcome back Old Oxleyan Dr Heidi Bevan, whose reflections on her time at Oxley and her experiences in the medical profession were both heartfelt and inspiring, reminding us all of what truly matters most. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening alongside Wingecarribee Shire Council Deputy Mayor Erin Foley. Founded in 1983, Oxley College continues to foster a culture grounded in courage, humility, patience and fortitude — values that encourage students to grow in character, leadership and opportunity.
