28th May, 2025.
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the opening of the Tahmoor Public School's 2025 parliament. This very formal event was attended by the year 6 cohort and their elected representatives. I was delighted to see the formalities that took place, and to see the leaders of tomorrow confidently explore what leadership can achieve. The encouragement from the principal regarding the initiatives and ideals that these representatives should follow is a great start for any parliament, and I look forward to watching these future politicians evolve. The Tahmoor Public School parliament will strive to display responsibility, loyalty, leadership through peer support, and collaborative decision-making. This will set the standard for all future cohorts and help students to remember that good leaders take the time to listen to everyone before making a decision. I look forward to hearing from members of the school parliament with any requests to improve their place of learning. I also really enjoyed the mace that the students made for themselves.
