These Championships are more than just competition, they're about courage, teamwork, and the next generation of leaders. It was wonderful to see this year's Championships again hosted in Douglas Park by the RFS, and the Rural Fire Service Association, right here in Wollondilly, with 21 teams from all around Australia and New Zealand, nearly 150 cadets taking part. Over several days, they tested their skills in hose and hydrant drills, pump operations, navigation, communications, first aid, and real‑world scenarios that mirror the challenges faced on the fire-ground. What stood out wasn't just fastest times or sharpest drills, but the character, discipline, and resilience of these young Australasians. Cadets traded school holidays for training, learning to work as a team when seconds matter, to communicate clearly under pressure, and to care for one another. Congratulations to every cadet who competed, you've made all of us proud. The presentation was filled with mateship, and an energetic, fun atmosphere. It was truly moving to see the Kiwi teams perform a beautiful Waiata and the Haka. You could feel the pride and spirit of these young people and their RFS mentors, creating memories and friendships that will last forever.
