Theresa Park Rural Fire Brigade are the very deserving recipients of $65,000 in funding from the December 2023 round of the NSW Government's Infrastructure Grants Program. The funds will be used for an extension to the existing station. The grant is part of the Clubs Grants Category 3 funding, which reinvests gaming machine profits from clubs across the state into community projects. The Theresa Park brigade was established in 1942 by local farmers. It relies on the contributions of its members and volunteers, and this funding will prove a huge benefit to the station in allowing a much needed extension project to go ahead. Rural and regional communities, like so many of those found in Wollondilly, rely heavily on their RFS in times of need. Everyone in my electorate has a story or a few about how they, or someone they know, has been affected by the bushfires that seem to be impacting our lives more often. Rural Fire Brigades like Theresa Park deserve all the support we can give them, and I am ever thankful for the RFS volunteers who give up their time to be there for the community.
