Alive were nominated for the Local Hero Community Group Award in Wollondilly Shire Council's 2026 Australia Day Awards. Over the past 12 months, this volunteer‑led grassroots organisation has made a strong impact across the Wollondilly community by raising approximately $30,000 through the sale of customised merchandise promoting safe driving awareness. The funds raised have supported initiatives focused on education and community engagement. The group creates and distributes community surveys to gather valuable data, using the results to inform programs and strengthen participation. Findings are presented in clear, visual formats to ensure the information is accessible and impactful for the broader community. Volunteers also dedicate many hours at local shopping centres, speaking directly with community members to raise awareness and encourage responsible driving. A professionally produced educational video is currently in development, targeting young drivers and designed for sharing across social media to expand the organisation's reach. Looking ahead, Think of the Five Arrive Alive will launch a Parent Toolkit for learner drivers and commence workshops in 2026, equipping families with practical tools to support young drivers. Through these initiatives, the organisation shows a strong commitment to safer roads and preventing harm.
