17th September, 2024.
On Friday 13 September I attended a moving memorial service for a much-loved and respected member of our community, Michael Davis. Michael was a long‑term member and president of the Warradale Men's Shed. He contributed greatly to the achievements of the group and worked hard to secure the site for a new shed in Silverdale. The shed sadly has not been completed but, as we move towards the opening, I am sure that Michael is looking down on us and his fellow Warradale Men's Shed members. Michael's daughter, Kathy, spoke lovingly of Michael's life—from studying law to meeting his beloved wife, Ann, and their amazing life together. Michael was known within his family as Mr Fix It. No job was too small or too big—he loved working with his hands. He also loved travelling. Michael and Ann travelled all over the world in recent years, always looking for new adventures. Michael's service was attended by many friends from his law days, family members and many of his Warradale Men's Shed members, showing the great and lasting impact Michael had on those around him. I send my condolences to his family. Michael will be missed.
