Mrs Vivian Allen has been recognised for her contributions to Wollondilly, through her nominations in the 2025 Wollondilly Australia Day Awards, in the category of Senior Citizen of the Year. Vivian is a charter member of The Oaks Historical Society Incorporated, which was established on 1st May 1979. Since its inception, she has remained a dedicated and active contributor, taking on numerous roles including inaugural treasurer, secretary, public officer, librarian, photographic archivist, family historian, newsletter team member, and regular weekend volunteer. Vivian's willingness to step into any role needed has greatly benefited the Wollondilly Heritage Centre and Museum. Her extensive knowledge of museum operations and historical research has made her a valuable mentor to others within the society. Over the past year, Vivian has continued her weekend volunteer duties while undertaking the significant task of digitising the library's resources to improve accessibility for researchers. She has also played a key role in developing historical content for the society's newsletter, helping to preserve and share the rich heritage of the Wollondilly Shire. Vivian is a humble and respected member of the society, and a true pillar of the local historical community.
