Wingecarribee resident Peter Titmus is the deserving recipient of the Southern Highlands Community Foundation's 'Highlands Hero' award for April 2024. Peter is a volunteer for Bradman Foundation, and over the last two years has focussed his efforts on repairs and renovations at the Bradman Museum and Oval Precinct. The home of cricket legend Donald Bradman is a renowned feature of Bowral in the Southern Highlands, and thanks to Peter's hard work and efforts the Bradman Museum and Oval Precinct is ready to welcome many more visitors well into the future. The award is accompanied by a $5000 grant to the volunteer's organisation, which the museum plans to use for tools and equipment to help Peter maintain the presentation and safety of the Museum and grounds. Peter is known for his commitment, work ethic and high standard to which he holds himself and his work around the Museum. The immaculately maintained and presented Museum and grounds is credited to Peter. Being a self funded not-for-profit organisation, the museum benefits from the time and efforts that volunteers from the community contribute, and Peter is an example of selfless giving for the betterment of others.
