23rd October, 2025.
Warragamba Recreation Reserve was alive as Dam Fest 2025 opened to the public. Congratulations to the entire Warragamba Silverdale Neighbourhood Centre team and the many passionate and dedicated volunteers and Council staff who brought this fantastic festival to life in every way! Thousands of visitors enjoyed a day filled with Wollondilly community spirit, market stalls, community groups, great food, coffee and cool drinks, live entertainment, rides, animal encounters, the swap meet, motoring enthusiasts displaying their cars, trucks and bikes, and support from Fire and Rescue NSW, Police, and the Rural Fire Service. I was honoured to open the event with Wollondilly Mayor Matt Gould and share the Welcome to Country with Taylor Clark, a young local indigenous woman. What a great day celebrating community spirit at what is the 65th Year anniversary of the opening of the mighty Warragamba Dam. As a not for profit organisation WSNC ensures that all proceeds from DamFest go back into the local community through multiple programs aimed at assisting the growth and development of Warragamba, Silverdale and the wider Wollondilly.
