Community Recognition - Wingecarribee Australia Day

20th February, 2025.

Australia Day in the Wingecarribee Shire was a heartfelt occasion, bringing together the diverse and vibrant communities of Wollondilly and the Southern Highlands. It was a day to connect, reflect, and create lasting memories that remind us of the values which inspire and unite us. At the Wingecarribee citizenship ceremony, we proudly welcomed 34 new Australian citizens. We are fortunate to have individuals from various nations choosing the Wingecarribee Shire and the Wollondilly electorate as their new home, and we welcome them to the region and to Australia. Wingecarribee was fortunate to have Damien Leith attend with his wife and son as the Australia Day Ambassador, and I give a special mention to the talented performers and Amelia Jane from the Wingecarribee Vocal Muster for the magic they added to the event. I extend my congratulations to Jenny Kenna, the Wingecarribee Citizen of the Year, and to Peter Bray OAM and Lindy Deitz PSM for being honoured for services to the community in this year's Australia Day's Honours List.
