20th February, 2025.
Australia Day in the Wollondilly Shire was a heartfelt occasion, bringing together the diverse and vibrant communities of Wollondilly and the Southern Highlands. It was a day to connect, reflect, and create lasting memories that remind us of the values which inspire and unite us. At the Wollondilly citizenship ceremony, we proudly welcomed 29 new Australian citizens. We are fortunate to have individuals from various nations choosing the Wollondilly Shire and the Wollondilly electorate as their new home, and we wholeheartedly welcome them to the region and to Australia. Congratulations go to the Wollondilly Shire award winners for 2025 - Young Citizen of the Year Ellen Stucki, Achiever of the Year Mick Seccull, Sportsperson of the Year Renee Fitzsimmons, Local Hero Brian Page, Local Hero Community Group the Blue Butterfly Institute, Environmental Citizens of the Year Mel Johnstone and Mitch Peronis, Disability Inclusion Award Jessica Cronje, Special Age Award Willow Gumbley and Senior Citizen of the Year Evelyn McDonald.
