Congratulations to both Wollondilly Shire Council and Wingecarribee Shire Council, who have been successful in receiving grants for exciting library initiatives through the NSW Public Library Infrastructure Grants. Wollondilly Library has secured $332,727 for their Adaptive Mobile Library, and Wingecarribee Library has secured $207,104 for their Library Between The Lanes Mobile Library Fit-out. The funding aims to strengthen NSW public library infrastructure and improve access to library services. More than just physical books, libraries are a hub for community and offer connection, education, and access to technology. Wollondilly will update their mobile library vehicle, and increase access to books as well as technology and other resources. The Wingecarribee Library Between The Lanes Mobile Library project will see updated books, DVDS, audiobooks. Residents will also benefit from enhanced access to computers, online learning and wifi, as well as increased number of programs, events and visits to schools and aged care facilities. In an area as vast as Wollondilly, many residents rely on these library outreach services. I am proud of the work done by our libraries to foster a love of reading among residents of all ages and provide access to diverse programs and facilities.
