Walk it Off is a walking group for mental health. It strives to minimise the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide by providing a safe space for people who may be struggling with life's challenges. The group is committed to raising awareness by offering a supportive environment for anyone to join in and share their life experience. With membership open to anyone, you just turn up and walk, and its living motto is "Change starts with a walk." The newly formed Warragamba group is run by Chris Daniels in memory of Chris' son, who died by suicide when he was in year nine. That led Chris to explore ways to deal with his grief and mental health, and Walk it Off was formed. With regular walks scheduled, it anticipates continued participation and support from the community. Its inclusive approach extends to future plans of developing a women's group to ensure that everyone has access to support on their mental health journey. With safety measures in place and support from sponsors, Walk it Off is poised to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health challenges.
