Mrs JUDY HANNAN (Wollondilly) (21:45): Recently I spent a fantastic morning at Douglas Park for the official opening of the Wollondilly Dodgers Baseball Club and its first home games. In just eight weeks, an incredible group of volunteers has built the club from the ground up. There are 11 teams and, wonderfully, 80 of the 140 children involved are new to baseball. Well done to the committed volunteers, coaches, families and players who have worked so hard to get the new Wollondilly Dodgers up and running. Families are travelling from as far away as Mittagong to be part of it. There was such a great buzz around the grounds. Kids played, families cheered, the barbeque was going and a brand-new local sporting community came together. I congratulate everyone who worked so hard to get the Wollondilly Dodgers up and running. What a terrific start. This is a wonderful new sporting opportunity for Wollondilly. I was glad to be there for that special milestone.
