Media Release - Camden South Intersections Upgrade

3 March 2026

Yesterday, I was at Bowman Avenue Park speaking with members of the community about Wire Lane, Remembrance Driveway, the interim safety improvements planned for Camden South.

The intersection of Wire Lane and Remembrance Driveway sits on the border of the Wollondilly and Camden electorates, it is important that Sally Quinnell MP, State Member for Camden and I work together. Road safety is not confined by boundaries, it affects us all.

Sally Quinnell MP, Member for Camden and I are working to advocate and engage constructively with the NSW Premier, Treasurer and Minister for Roads to secure funding for the full intersection upgrade, with building the traffic signals in the upcoming NSW Budget. Last year, Sally secured the funding in the Budget for planning and design work, which is now well underway and moving as quickly as possible, subject to funding approval.

Minister for Roads and Transport for NSW will implement interim safety upgrades at Wire Lane from the middle of March.Interim upgrade works includes:

  • a new No U Turn sign south bound at the Wire Lane and Remembrance Drive intersection. A sign will also be installed to direct drivers to use the

  • roundabout at Bridgewater Boulevard 700m south to turn around

  • extending the No Stopping zone outside Camden Valley Inn

  • installing a new Stop sign at Wire Lane to replace the Give Way sign

  • new line marking for the Stop sign.

I will continue advocating to the Minister for Roads to accelerate planning for the preferred signalised intersection at Wire Lane and construction work on the traffic lights.
