I am pleased to share news that five sports organisations in the Wollondilly and Southern Highlands are successful in obtaining a combined total of $50,000 in the latest round of the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program.
The Program provides grants for minor facility upgrades, new equipment and programs that support and encourage participation in sport and active recreation in NSW. Grants up to $20,000 were available.
Member for Wollondilly, Judy Hannan MP, said:
“Sport plays a vital role in bringing the community together. Sport is a crucial part of the community providing physical activity and research has shown sports lead to positive health and wellbeing outcomes.
“I warmly congratulate the successful organisations across the Southern Highlands and Wollondilly LGA and commend their ongoing commitment to building stronger, healthier and more connected communities.”
“Behind every local club is a team of volunteers, families and players, coaches and referees or umpires, who give their time to keep community spirit alive. This funding backs them in, helping clubs across our region continue to grow, include more people, and create opportunities for everyone to get involved.”
