14th October, 2024
The Minns Labor Government is delivering new infrastructure to the Wollondilly community to unlock more homes and build better communities.
Wollondilly is a key growth area, and the NSW Government is making sure new homes are being built alongside supporting infrastructure through the State Voluntary Planning Agreement (SVPA). The SVPA was established to support the delivery of public amenities and services, affordable housing, transport infrastructure, or conservation works.
Projects being funded through the program in Wollondilly include:
Implementation of Thirlmere Memorial Park and Sportsground Master Plan (Multi-purpose Building) | Desgin and construction of a new multipurpose amenities building identified in the Thirlmere Memorial Park and Sportsground Master Plan. | $5,000,000 | ||

The delivery of these projects is part of the Minns Labor Government’s plan to build a better NSW with more homes and services, so young people, families and workers have somewhere to live. Across NSW, the SVPA program will deliver nearly $56 million to key growth areas from the NSW Government with co-contributions of $30 million from local councils.
The new infrastructure is expected to unlock an additional 29,000 across the state as the NSW Government works towards its goal of 377,000 new homes under the National Housing Accord.

“The existing villages and community that are now moving into Wollondilly will be excited to see what will come and I am excited that we will see this infrastructure investment to match our growth, It is about time!”
Matt Gould Mayor of Wollondilly Shire Council said:
“We are incredibly happy to see this much needed funding invested into infrastructure for our community, from Warragamba and Silverdale through to Thirlmere, Picton and Wilton.”
“This builds on Council’s record investment in our towns and villages all over the Shire and I’m very pleased that we’re starting to see the infrastructure delivered to support our rapidly growing community.”
“Congratulations and thank you to the NSW Government, Minister Scully and our Member for Wollondilly Judy Hannan MP for advocating so hard for our community. Thank you also to our hard working staff that put together these proposals and will deliver the works on the ground. I can’t wait!”
