Increased Police Presence in Wollondilly
For many years, I—along with a large number of community members—have advocated for a Police Area Command in Wollondilly.
I will present the Community petition to the NSW Parliament, Legislative Assembly:
To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly,
We, the undersigned, acknowledge the growth of Wollondilly has not been matched with increased Police presence.
Currently the Police presence of Wollondilly is shared by out of area Police Area Commands in Camden, Campbelltown, Penrith and Moss Vale with extensive travel times required to travel into Wollondilly from each Police Command.
We ask the Legislative Assembly to call on the NSW Government to:
1. Acknowledge the growing region of Wollondilly needs more police, with quicker, more efficient response times to match the growth
2. Increase police numbers in Wollondilly by creating a 24 hour manned Police station in Picton
3. Plan for a new Police Area Command based in Picton for Wollondilly
4. Find permanent staff for the Warragamba and The Oaks Police Stations
5. Create a new Police Station at Wilton
Sign the petition to add your voice to the community campaign to increase Police Presence in Wollondilly.
I have raised this issue in State Parliament through representations to the Minister, as well as through speeches and Questions to the Government, highlighting the need for this in our area—particularly in light of continued growth across Wollondilly and south-west Sydney.
