Let's celebrate our Wollondilly Seniors!
Residents of Wollondilly Electorate (Wollondilly and the Southern Highlands) are encouraged to celebrate the positive role seniors play in the community by nominating them for the 2026 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards.
If you know a senior who strives to make our community a better place through volunteering, innovation, or simply supporting family and friends, now is the time to nominate them in the 2026 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards under the theme “Live Life in Colour!”.
This annual festival is about celebrating the positive impact of older people in our families and society.
Some of the reasons you could nominate a senior for an award are:

- Demonstrating leadership, dedication and service that inspires others
- Volunteering consistently or supporting local initiatives over time
- Advocating for community wellbeing or social causes
- Promoting health, wellbeing and active living
- Leading or participating in mental wellness or sporting activities
- Enriching the community through arts, storytelling or cultural preservation
- Sharing heritage and traditions across generations
- Showing resilience and embracing change
Recipients of the NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards 2026 will be announced during the NSW Seniors Festival March 2026.
The awards program is part of an exciting schedule of events across the state.
By highlighting seniors’ continued efforts in helping themselves thrive, we are continuing to challenge ageism and empower seniors to overcome social stigmas.

If you know a senior who helps make our community diverse, inspiring and active, then I encourage you to nominate them for acknowledgement of their contribution! We are fortunate to have so many seniors in our local community who are generous with their time, energy and commitment.
Minister for Seniors, The Hon. Jodie Harrison MP said the festival, now in its 68th year was a key initiative in the NSW Government’s ongoing commitment to supporting seniors.
“As part of the festival there are almost 50 NSW Government run and sponsored events happening across the state designed specifically for our older community members,” Minister Harrison said.
“On top of this, there are dozens more events organised by councils and other organisations, ranging across sports, culture, nature and food, so there is plenty on offer for everyone.
“The NSW Government is committed and continuing to realise our vision of creating a state where seniors reap the benefits of living longer, more active lives.”
