Mate Up is new to my electorate and focuses on men's mental health and making space for the conversations that need to be had. The very first Mate Up event was held in early May and what an incredible day it was. Just short of a hundred men from Wollondilly and surrounds came together at Bargo Baptist Church for a day of connection, conversation, support and mateship. The feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive and it was fantastic to see so many men showing up for one another. A massive thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success. Special thanks to the Bargo Mens Shed Incorporated for providing an awesome lunch - free of charge - your generosity was truly appreciated by all. Thank you also to Bargo Baptist Church community for generously providing the venue at no cost for the men of our community. Your support helped make this event possible. They had two fantastic speakers, Mark Gaff and Robert Rus, and the day delivered meaningful conversations, encouragement and connection. What a wonderful first event for Mate Up and hopefully the beginning of something really valuable for our community.
